…who God is and who we are in Christ.
The Journey is an environment where we "work out" our salvation and see the miracle of Christ’s life in each other. It is a very simple concept whose results are hard to describe. At its core, it is a group of individuals who gather together once a week, Monday evenings at 6:30pm, for approximately 19 weeks. We share a meal together then walk through the reality of life as we know it in view of the miracle of Christ in us. We participate in great conversation led by facilitators, with people who will becomes friends for life. We look at our individual journeys and the living realities of our faith. Everyone has questions about the most important thing in all of eternity, our salvation. Our focus is on loving God, loving ourselves and loving others.
The OPEN TABLE is a place where you can open the Bible without expectation or need of a theological degree. In the midst of community, we walk through the Bible not looking for principles or applications but something far greater: the miracle of an ever-present Christ on full display. Whether in the New Testament or Old Testament, we see the glorious revealing of Christ. Our desire is to create an atmosphere where you can explore, discover, question, challenge, disagree or agree, and in the midst of all that, see LIFE. This is a "come when you can" environment. We will meet on Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:45. Childcare is provided.
…with a community to encounter Jesus Christ
Sunday morning is a special time when we gather as a family to celebrate our life in Christ together and be reminded of who we are in Christ. It is not a place of "3 Steps to Better Parenting" or "4 Ways to Make Your Marriage Great"; rather, it is a place where we uncover the amazing mystery of Christ in us!
…with people and partner with God to expand His Kingdom.
Great Commission Sundays
Our heart is to be an Acts 1:8 community. Four to five times throughout the year we use the Sunday morning gathering time to focus on what God is doing in Saline, Washtenaw County, Michigan/Northwest Ohio and the world.
Pleasant Ridge Teacher Supply Closet
Every month we open our doors to encourage and support the teachers of Pleasant Ridge Elementary school which is just around the block from the 5th Corner by offering free supplies (wet wipes, post-it notes, folders, tissues, etc.) they can choose for their classrooms. We deeply appreciate the investment these teachers are making and want to support and encourage them!
Saline Social Services
We partner with Saline Social Services throughout the year with them as needs arise in our community. http://www.salinesocialservice.com
Big Serve (Student Ministry)
In addition to serving with That Neighborhood Church in Toledo each summer, our students serve in practical ways in the Saline community. The students have been investing in Saline through visiting at Brecon Village and doing yard work for single mothers. We believe in creating opportunities for students to invest in others.
THAT NEIGHBORHOOD CHURCH (TNC)
We began a partnership with That Neighborhood Church in Toledo several years ago when our youth ministry participated in TNC’s Big Serve event, reaching out to inner-city Toledo through service projects and interaction with the community. Our relationship with TNC has continued every summer, and has grown to involve all ages. http://www.lovegodlovepeopleproveit.com
OLIVE TREE Campus Church
We have a partnership with a new church that is reaching Chinese graduate and undergraduate students on the campus of University of Michigan. http://www.aaotcc.org
…to a family of people who share life with one another.
Crowded Houses are smaller communities that are intentional about sharing life with one another. Our goal is to create these smaller environments of 8-14 people that will live out the "one anothers" revealed in Scripture (encourage one another, care for one another, pray for one another, etc.)
